Tuesday, February 12, 5-7 p.m. in the Parish Hall
Long ago, strict Christian practice prohibited the eating of sugar, fatty foods and dairy products during the 40 day season of Lent, so keen housewives made lots of pancakes right before the beginning of Lent to use up supplies of milk, butter and fats. Pancakesd were easily made and cooked in large skillets or on a griddle. Families made up stacks of them as pancakes were delicious and popular with everyone. It's that time of year again when folks start thinking of what to give up for Lent. Before giving up anything, come to our annual pancake supper on Shrove Tuesday (Feb. 12), the day before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. Pancakes, sausage and beverages will be served in the Parish Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. and you can get plates "to go" as well. Tickets are only $7.00 and can be purchased at the door. Children under 5 eat free. See you there!
