Children's rights activist Marilyn Gambrell speaks at St. Stephen's

Posted on Tue, May 24, 2011

Children’s rights activist and author Marilyn Gambrell was the guest speaker at the district meeting of Texas AgriLife Family & Consumer Science (FCS) Agents held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church on May 18th. Ms. Gambrell is the founder of "No More Victims, Inc.", a Houston-based organization that addresses the physical, emotional and educational needs of children whose parents are incarcerated. Her story was made into a Lifetime Network movie, "Fighting the Odds: The Marilyn Gambrell Story" starring Jami Gertz, and she and her organization were recently featured on an episode of the new reality TV show, "Secret Millionaire". Participants of “No More Victims” were also in attendance and shared their personal stories of how the program changed their lives. During the meeting, Fr. Ted presented the organization with a check for $200.00.
