We are Tennessee-bound: To be the hands and feet of Christ
Your Jr. & Sr. High Youth Group are embarking on an adventure of a lifetime, as they travel to the Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee in July to help others in the name of Christ, and have some fun too! Their missionary work will include home repairs, cleaning, construction, landscaping, painting and renovation. They will also participate in interactive projects such as working in a Senior Center, Family Crisis Center, Food Bank, Vacation Bible School or an industrial opportunities facility for physically challenged adults & youth. Another option will be to work on environmental projects in the neighboring mountain forest. In addition to service and volunteer work, they will participate in daily devotionals along with evening programs that will include small group discussions, music and worship. After working and helping others for a few days, they will be rewarded with an exciting whitewater raft trip, completing an awesome challenge course, and attending a professional baseball game! Your youth will be hosting several fundraisers to help pay for their mission trip, because part of the service is to pay their way as St. Paul did on his missionary journeys. Your missionaries will be hosting our Lenten suppers each Wednesday in Lent, so please come and dine, and be generous with your donations! Other fundraisers are being planned, including a huge rummage sale on Saturday, April 16th, so start gathering up that stuff you were planning on donating to Good Will (furniture, toys, books, games, children's and baby clothing, electronics and small appliances).
Please support this worthy effort by attending or assisting with our young people's efforts to spread the love of Christ in the world! Contact Debbie Dugger or Fr. Ted for information on how you can help.
