Featuring international soloist Sonja Bruzauskas
International opera singer Sonja Bruzauskas will present a vocal recital at 4 p.m., Sun., Feb. 23, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. The public is invited to attend. Before moving to the United States, Bruzauskas was a mezzo soprano soloist for the Stattsoperette Dresden, Germany, p e r f o rmi n g principal roles in both musicals and operas. She has appeared as soloist with many other opera companies in Germany and has recently performed as soloist with many operas and musical venues in the U.S., such as the Baton Rouge Symphony, Santa Fe Opera, Houston Chamber Orchestra, Mercury Baroque and many others. She will be accompanied by Dr. Tali Morgulis, assistant professor of keyboard, at the University of Houston’s Moore School of Music. Israeli-American pianist, Dr. Morgulis has appeared as soloist with many orchestras, such as the Thuringen Philharmonic, Maiaga Symphony, Zagreb Philharmonic and Haifa Symphony. The program will include a selection of art songs by Robert and Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
